Section of M8 closed due to 'hanging debris'

Road users have been warned of “severe delays” due to a section of the M8 being closed during Storm Floris.

The westbound carriageway of the motorway has been shut from Junction 18 over the Kingston Bridge due to hanging debris.

Repairs are being carried out to the overhead gantry which has been damaged by the adverse weather conditions.

Road users have been urged to follow the diversions in place.

A post from Traffic Scotland read: “The M8 westbound from Junction 18 over the Kingston Bridge is closed due to hanging debris from a Gantry. As a result there is severe delays in the area.”
