Section of M8 closed at rush hour due to police incident 

A section of the M8 was closed at rush due to a police incident.

The motorway was shut at junction 12 near Blackhill in both directions, with traffic being diverted off the road.

The incident was first reported by Traffic Scotland at around 5.10pm on Thursday.

Road users were being urged to take alternative routes as traffic in the area got heavy.

Around 6pm, the incident was cleared but drivers still reported delays.
