A motorcyclist is in hospital and a section of the M8 has been closed following a crash during rush hour.
Emergency services were called to the motorway at around 9.15am on Wednesday following a crash involving two cars and a motorbike.
Following the collision, drivers are being urged to avoid the area surrounding junction 13 at Provan near Alexandra Park in Glasgow.
The slip road at Junction 12 has also been closed to motorists.
Emergency services are said to be on the scene, with motorists warned to expect delays of over 20 minutes.
Traffic Scotland reported: “The M8 is currently CLOSED at Junction 13 Provan Westbound due to a road traffic collision
“Approx. 23 minute delays. The M8 Jct 12 on slip is also CLOSED.
“Emergency services are attending the scene. Updates to come.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The M8 westbound is closed at junction 13 following a crash involving two cars and a motorbike.
“Emergency services were called around 9.15am on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, and the rider of the motorbike has been taken to hospital.
“Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.”
