A serial sex offender has been sentenced to an extra eight years in jail after two more victims came forward.

Alexander Morgan, 72, preyed on the then young girls between 1992 and 1996.

The attacks happened at addresses in Paisley, Renfrewshire as well as Blantyre in Lanarkshire.

The victims were aged around 11 and 12 when Morgan first struck.

Morgan was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow on Thursday having earlier been found guilty of two charges of lewd and libidinous conduct.

He was already serving a ten-year jail term for sex offences – including the rape of a young girl in Paisley – imposed in 2015.

The latest stint will begin at the end of that sentence.

Simon Gilbride, defending on Thursday said Morgan has had “no contact” from family and friends since his offending came to light.
