The discovery of “potentially hazardous material” has prompted a large emergency response at a flat in Glasgow.
Police and emergency crews are currently in attendance at the property on Altyre Street, Shettleston.
It is currently unknown if anyone has been injured as a result of the find.
The incident appears to have taken place near to the Wellshot Primary School on Wellshot Road.
SFRS said they had dispatched a hazmat unit and three appliances to the scene at around 5.39pm.
They were still in attendance as of 8pm on Monday, alongside ambulances and police.
Local residents have been evacuated from the area as enquiries continue.
Altyre Street, Dalness Street, Ard Street and Trainard Avenue have been closed and police are asking members of the public to avoid the area. #
Shettleston councillor Jill Pidgeon said: “It’s unclear as yet what the incident is on Altyre Street is, but I can only hope everyone is safe and well. I know this is a hugely worrying incident but please co-operate with the police guidance and follow their instructions around safety.
“If anyone is feeling distressed or needs support, get in touch and I will try my best to help.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
