Still Game star Gavin Mitchell was rushed to hospital in an ambulance after choking on his dinner.
The 61-year-old Scottish actor and comedian is best known for portraying ‘Boaby the Barman’ in the BBC sitcom.
He revealed on Thursday that he took an “unexpectedly dramatic visit” to Glasgow’s Royal Infirmary after choking on Hogmanay.
The TV star said he passed out and stopped breathing, adding that his partner Lindsay had to break a door off its hinges during the ordeal.
Posting on Instagram, Mitchell said: “Well 2025, you have been a cracker of highs and lows, but I didn’t imagine bringing it in like this.
“As some of you will know, it’s been a bit of year for us both. I simply couldn’t have Lindsay stealing the limelight and having the final hospital visit and best drama of the year! We’ve already been on adjacent wards this year.”
At the end of his post, Mitchell challenged 2026 to “bring it on”.
