A man who travelled to Naples with friends to celebrate a 50th birthday failed to return home and hasn’t been seen in a week.
Robert Cadger flew to the Italian city on March 8 to do some sightseeing and attend a Serie A match between Napoli and Fiorentina.
On Monday, March 10, the 47-year-old travelled via train to Pompeii with one of his friends.
He told his friend that he would wait at the entrance to the ruined city but he hasn’t been seen since.
The 47-year-old arranged to meet his friends at the Spanish Quarter in Naples after they became separated.
Mr Cadger said he was on his way and friends told family that he sounded ok on the phone. Despite waiting at the arranged destination he never showed up.

The trio were scheduled to come home on March 11, but Mr Cadger did not appear for the flight.
His family say he left for Naples with just 600 euros and that they are in contact with the British Embassy.
At the time of his disappearance, Mr Cadger was wearing a yellow Aberdeen FC tracksuit top.
His brother Euan Cadger told STV News: “It is just like he has vanished off the face of the earth.
“Authorities have checked hospitals and custody, but he isn’t there. His phone hasn’t been on.
“We have been trying to call him since Tuesday. We’ve been advised not to go over just now until there is something a bit more concrete.
“Obviously the longer this goes on the more worried we are getting.
“It is like he has completely disappeared”.
A FCDO spokesperson said: “We are supporting the family of a British man missing in Italy and are in contact with the local authorities.”
