A stray dog is “desperately” searching for a home after nearly four years in a Dogs Trust shelter in Glasgow.

Jupiter the Doberman has spent more than 1,300 days in care after coming into a Dogs Trust shelter in April 2021 as a stray.

Nicknamed Super Jupiter by the charity, he is described as sweet, loyal and loving, although his many qualities continue to be overlooked.

Dogs Trust said he can be unsure of new people and dogs but is happy wearing a muzzle.

He celebrated his sixth birthday in the charity’s care in December.

He has spent time in foster care, where his fosterers have described him as a “total velcro boy” within the home.

Jupiter is smaller in size than the average Dobermann and would love to live in a rural location where he can enjoy walks in peace and quiet.

He requires an adult-only home with no other pets.

Sandra Downie, manager at Dogs Trust Glasgow, said: “Jupiter is the most affectionate of dogs, and we all adore him.

“He is one of our ‘Underdogs’ which is the term given to dogs who have been in our care for more than six months, but why he has been with us for so long is a complete mystery to us.

“Since he arrived in 2021, we have found homes for hundreds of dogs, but Jupiter continues to be overlooked by potential adopters.

“However, we know his special someone is out there and when they meet our super boy, they will love him as much as we do.”
