A stretch of the M74 has been closed due to a “police incident”.
Emergency services were alerted to an incident at around 6.20pm on Wednesday.
In response, the northbound carriageway of the motorway has been closed at Junction 1.
STV News understands this is due to a medical matter.
Traffic Scotland has issued a warning advising drivers to find alternative routes at this time.
They wrote: “The Northbound carriageway has now been closed at Junction 1 due to a Police incident. Emergency services are in attendance.
“Please plan an alternative route using our route checker.”
