Google MapsA suspect has been arrested and a BB gun recovered after a man was spotted in possession of a firearm in Glasgow.
Emergency services were called to Queen Margaret Drive in the Maryhill area around 12.55pm on Friday to reports of a man with a firearm.
A 58-year-old man has been arrested in connection after officers recovered a BB gun at the scene.
There have been no reported injuries and there is no wider risk to the public, with enquiries ongoing.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A 58-year-old man has been arrested after officers were called to the Maryhill area of Glasgow following a report of man in possession of a possible firearm.
“Police were called to the Queen Margaret Drive area at around 12.55pm on Friday, September 4, 2026.
“There have been no reported injuries and there is no wider risk to the public.
“Enquiries remain ongoing and a BB gun has been recovered.”
