A man has appeared in court after a person was left seriously injured following an attempted murder in Greenock.
Emergency services were called to reports of a man with serious injuries on Darndaff Road at around 5.20pm on Tuesday.
A 65-year-old man was taken to hospital.
On Thursday, a 28-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the attempted murder.
Sean McAuley made no plea during an appearance at Greenock Sheriff Court on Friday.
The 28-year-old, from Greenock, was charged with assault to severe injury, danger of life and attempted murder.
He was also charged with being in posession of an offence weapon.
McAuley was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
He is due to appear again within the next eight days.
