Two suspects are to stand trial charged with murdering a man, dumping his body in a bin and setting fire to it.
Jude McPhie, 41, and Christopher O’Reilly, 26, are accused of killing William Leiper over a two-day period at a house in Hartstone Road in Glasgow’s Pollok.
It is claimed they repeatedly inflicted blunt force trauma on the 31-year-old by “means unknown” between August 2 and 4 last year.
The pair along with 49-year-old William Feely are then accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice.
The charge includes claims Mr Leiper’s body was removed from the house and transported in a wheelie bin to Househill Park in Pollok where it was torched.
It is said bleach and lighter fluid had been bought to “destroy evidence”.
It is further claimed attempts were made to clean-up the alleged murder scene, clothes and a hammer were burned and that a blood-stained mattress was disposed of.
The indictment alleges this was all done in a bid to avoid “detection, arrest and prosecution”.
O’Reilly alone faces three separate fraud charges of using Mr Leiper’s bank card to try and buy goods.
This included a £39.99 bottle of vodka and £38 of cigarettes at shops in Pollok.
McPhie is also accused of theft at a petrol station.
The case called for a hearing at the High Court in Glasgow on Monday, where lawyers for all three pled not guilty on their behalf.
Lady Stacey set a trial due to begin in April next year.
A further hearing will take place before then later this year.
