A 17-year-old has been charged with murder following the alleged stabbing of teenager Kayden Moy.
The 16-year-old from East Kilbride was found seriously injured on Irvine beach following a disturbance around 6.45pm on Saturday, May 17.
He received medical care at the scene but died in hospital on Sunday.
A 17-year-old male from East Kilbride appeared in private at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Tuesday in connection with the death.
He was charged with murder, attempting to pervert the course of justice and carrying an offensive weapon in a public place.

The teenager made no plea and was committed for further examination and remanded in custody.
He will appear in court within the next eight days.
Police say extensive enquiries remain ongoing, but the attack is believed to be targeted.
As part of the ongoing investigation, officers taped off Showpark in East Kilbride on Tuesday.
Kayden’s family paid tribute to the teenager, describing him “loved by so many”.
In a statement shared through Police Scotland, they said: “Kayden will be sorely missed by his parents and two younger brothers.
“He was loved by so many and that is shown in the huge number of heartfelt messages we have received since his death.
“We would like to thank everyone who has shown us support over these last few days.”
Detective chief inspector Campbell Jackson, Major Investigations Team, said: “Our thoughts remain with Kayden’s family at this very difficult time. Specially trained officers are continuing to support Kayden’s family
“We believe this was a targeted attack and there is no risk to the wider public.
“We have a dedicated team of officers working on this investigation and I am again asking anyone who may have information which could help us and who has not yet come forward, to please contact us.
“No matter how small it may seem, it may be the key piece we need.
“I would like to thank the community in both Irvine and East Kilbride for their support so far.
