Teenage boy injured after being ‘stabbed’ in street attack

A 16-year-old is in hospital following an attack on Friday night.

A schoolboy has been left injured after reportedly being stabbed in a late night street attack in Inverclyde.

The 16-year-old was on Auchenbothie Road in Port Glasgow when the attack took place at around 11pm on Friday.

Emergency services attended and he was taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries.

Police are now appealing for information.

A spokeswoman for the force said: “We are currently investigating the alleged assault of a 16-year-old boy, on the Auchenbothie Road area of Port Glasgow on Friday night.”
