A teenage boy is due in court after allegedly leading police on a car chase through Paisley before crashing.
Police attempted to stop a car on Underwood Road in connection with road traffic offences around 11am on Saturday, April 6 before a pursuit unfolded.
The chase came to an end when the car crashed further down the street and the 17-year-old driver was apprehended.
Police said the youth has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic and drug offences.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Shortly after 11am on Saturday, April 6, 2024, police attempted to stop a car on Underwood Road, Paisley, in connection with road traffic offences.
“A short pursuit took place, which came to an end when the car crashed in on Underwood Road at Caledonia Street.
“A 17-year-old male youth has been arrested and charged in connection with road traffic and drug offences. He is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, April 8, 2024, and a report will be sent to the relevant authorities.”
