A 16-year-old male has been charged in connection with a serious assault in Dumbarton.

A 69-year-old man was allegedly attacked on Bankend Road in the West Dunbartonshire town at around 7.40pm on Friday December 20 2024.

He was treated in hospital for his injuries following the incident.

The 16-year-old was released on an undertaking to appear at Dumbarton Sheriff Court at a later date, Police Scotland said.

A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
