A teenager has been left with a serious head injury after he was attacked by a gang in West Dunbartonshire.

The 18-year-old man was assaulted by four men on Renton’s Station Street around 9.50pm on Wednesday.

Three of the assailants got out of a parked car and a fourth man arrived from the direction of the town’s Back Street.

The four attackers, described as being aged between 20 and 30 years old and wearing dark clothing, fled the scene in the direction of Back Street.

Detective constable Calum Hall said: “This was a violent attack which left the victim with a serious head injury.

“Our enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing, and I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to get in touch.

“We are particularly keen to hear from anyone in the area with private doorbell footage or CCTV that may assist our investigation.”
