Teenager rushed to hospital after serious assault near primary school by two men in Glasgow

A teenager has been rushed to hospital after being assaulted by two men in Glasgow.

Police are hunting two suspects who attacked the 18-year-old man on Herma Street in the Cadder area at around 3pm on Friday, January 26.

The teen was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary to be treated for injuries and has since been discharged.

Police say an initial incident involving the 18-year-old, who was said to be driving, and one other man took place near the local primary school on Herma Street.

A further incident occurred on the same street as another man became involved, with the teenager then assaulted by the two men in the garden of a house.

One man drove off in a silver/grey Jeep type car while the other walked away from the scene.

The men are described as both being white, one approximately 35 years old and 6ft in height with short blondish hair and wearing an all-blue tracksuit.

The second man is described as approximately 50 years old, 5ft 11 in height, with grey hair and balding, and wearing a red jacket.

Detective Constable Kevin Ford, Maryhill CID, said: “This assault didn’t involve any pupil at the school; it happened as the school was coming out.

“There were a lot of people in the area at the time picking up children and I am sure someone there would have witnessed what happened.

“Officers have been checking CCTV and carrying out door-to-door enquiries since the attack, but would appeal to anyone not yet spoken to by police to come forward.”
