A teenager was taken to hospital and a man was arrested following a break-in at a house in East Renfrewshire.
Emergency services were called to reports of a housebreaking at a property on Broomvale Drive, in Newton Mearns, at around 12.10am on Sunday.
A 16-year-old boy was found injured and was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow. His current condition is unknown.
No-one else from within the property was injured.
Officers confirmed that a 42-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with possessing an offensive weapon.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.10am on Sunday, October 29, police were called to a report of a break-in to a house in Newton Mearns.
“Officers attended and a 16-year-old man was found injured and taken by ambulance to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, Glasgow.
“No-one from within the house was injured. Enquiries are continuing and this is being treated as a concern for person incident.
“A 42-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with possession of an offensive weapon. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
