Tens of thousands of activists are expected to march for climate justice in Glasgow on Saturday.

Organised by the COP26 Coalition, the march will take place on the Global Day of Action for Climate Justice, with more than 200 events taking place across the world.

Beginning at Kelvingrove Park around 11am, activists will march through the city before gathering at Glasgow Green around 3pm for a rally.

It comes as thousands of youth activists marched in Glasgow on Friday demanding world leaders take action to tackle climate change.

Activists Vanessa Nakate and Greta Thunberg made speeches in George Square urging those in attendance to “make your voice heard”.

A number of demonstrations have been held in Glasgow during the first week of COP26.

Extinction Rebellion staged a sit-down protest outside the offices of the SSE in Waterloo Street on Wednesday.

Protesters also marched outside the JP Morgan offices in Glasgow, banging drums and chanting, before activists headed towards the Squinty Bridge outside of the COP26 blue zone.
