A third person has appeared in court charged in connection with the death of a man found injured outside his home in North Ayrshire.

Emergency services were called to Pollock Crescent in Kilwinning at around 1.55pm on October 18, after they received reports of an injured man.

John Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators confirmed they were treating the death of the 44-year-old as murder.

Kiey O’Connor appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Wednesday, October 23 in connection with Mr Taylor’s death.

The 26-year-old was charged with murder and attempting to defeat the ends of justice.

O’Connor made no plea and was remanded in custody. He was due to appear in court again within eight days.

Kieran Lindsay appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday, October 28, in connection with the 44-year-old’s death.

The 19-year-old was charged with murder. Lindsay made no plea and was remanded in custody. He is due back in court again within eight days

A second teenager, Marshall Strachan, has also now appeared in court charged with murder.

The 19-year-old, from Kilwinning, made no plea when he appeared at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Thursday, October 31 and was remanded in custody.

He is due to reappear in court within eight days.

Officers previously arrested a 53-year-old man who was then released pending further enquiries.

The investigation into the death remains ongoing.

Detectives have set up a website that gives members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the Major Investigation Team, which can be submitted anonymously.
