Three people taken to hospital following one-vehicle crash involvng pedestrian in Paisley

Three people have been taken to hospital after a vehicle struck a pedestrian in Renfrewshire.

Emergency services were called to Glasgow Road in Paisley at around 3pm on Monday following reports of a collision.

The Scottish Ambulance Service dispatched three ambulance, two paramedic cars and three special operations response teams.

Three fire appliances and a major incident unit were also mobilised to the scene.

Officers closed the road following the incident.

Four people were passed into the care of medical teams. Two were taken to the Royal Alexandria Hospital and one patient was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 3.05pm on April 28 to attend an incident on Glasgow Road, Paisley.

“Three ambulances, two paramedic response cars, and three special operations response teams (SORT) were dispatched to the scene.

“Two patients were transported to the Royal Alexandria Hospital and one patient to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson added: “We were alerted at 3.12pm on Monday, April 28, to reports of a road traffic collision involving one vehicle on Glasgow Road in Paisley.

“Operations Control mobilised three fire appliances and a major incident unit to the scene to assist emergency service partners.

“Four casualties were handed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Crews have now left the scene after ensuring the area was safe.”
