Three teenagers have been taken to hospital after an early morning crash on the M77.
Emergency services were called to the northbound carriageway near junction 5 south of Newton Mearns after reports of a crash involving a grey Volkswagen Polo around 12.22am on Wednesday.
Four ambulances were sent to the incident, and the 19-year-old male driver was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
The two male passengers, aged 17 and 19, were taken to hospital for treatment. The road was closed for more than nine hours.
Sergeant Jim Dewar said: “Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone with information that could assist to get in touch.
“If you were driving in the area at the time, please check dash-cam footage to see if you have captured anything that may help with our investigation.”
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson added, “We received a call at 12.22am to attend a road traffic collision on the M77.
“We dispatched four ambulances to the scene, and we transported three patients to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
