A man has been charged and police are hunting for another after a spate of vehicle-related incidents in Inverclyde.
Three vehicles were deliberately set on fire, a car was stolen and items were taken from insecure vehicles in the west end and Bow areas of Greenock.
A 24-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incidents that took place between 10pm on Monday, March 25 and 7am on Tuesday, March 26.
He was due to appear before Greenock Sheriff Court on Tuesday.
The Paton Street, Tasker Street, Forsyth Street, Robertson Street, Brisbane Street and South Street areas were all targeted in the incidents.
Police are appealing to trace a second man who was seen in the area and said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incidents.
Detective Constable Ruth Elder said: “We are appealing for anyone in the west end or Bow areas of Greenock who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the early hours of Tuesday morning to please get in touch.
“In particular we would like to hear from people with private CCTV, dashcam or doorbell camera footage which could be of significance to our investigation.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 0424 of Tuesday, March 26, 2024.
“Alternatively you can speak to Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
