Paolo Nutini brought the first night of TRNSMT to a buzzing conclusion hours after his first album in eight years topped the charts.
The Paisley-born singer sent an electric crowd home from Glasgow Green delighted following his headline slot on Friday.
Fans beat travel disruption and some inclement Scottish summer weather to pack out the main stage for his performance at the festival.
And they were rewarded with renditions of his best known hits alongside new tracks from his album Last Night In The Bittersweet – which reached number one shortly before his performance.
Nutini, 35, previously topped the album chart with 2009’s Sunny Side Up and once again with Caustic Love in 2014, while his debut album These Streets peaked at number three in 2006.
Around 50,000 people are expected to attend the event at Glasgow Green on each of the three days.
The Bootleg Beatles kicked off the main stage action on Saturday, followed by the likes of Tom Grennan, Nile Rogers and Sam Fender.
TRNSMTOn the King Tut’s stage, Scottish singer Callum Beattie, Glasgow-formed Saint PHNX and Bathgate-born Luke La Volpe were joined by Beabadoobee.
Saturday evening is headlined by The Strokes, while Foals, The Snuts and Fontaines DC are also set for the main stage.
Jimmy Eat World and Maximo Park are on the King Tut’s Stage with Self Esteem and Wet Leg.
Years and Years however were forced to pull out of the festival after singer Olly Alexander suffered a virus.
It is the first time the festival has been held in its traditional summer slot since 2019 after two years impacted by Covid-19.
