Two men are in hospital after a crash involving three vehicles closed a major road at rush hour.

Officers were called to the multi-vehicle collision on the A75 near Collin, Dumfries after 5pm on Monday, with the major road closed in both directions.

Two men were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.

The road was closed after 5pm and drivers are being urged to use alternative routes.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called to a report of a three-vehicle crash on the A75 near Collin around 5.05pm on Monday, July 8.

“Emergency services attended, and two men were taken to Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for treatment.”

A Traffic Scotland post read: “The A75 is currently closed in both directions near Collin, Dumfries, as a result of a road traffic accident.

“Motorists are advised to use an alternative route at this time.”

The Scottish Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.
