Two men charged after cocaine and heroin seized during police raid

Two men have been charged after drugs worth £800,000 were recovered in Motherwell.

Officers acting on intelligence searched two properties in the Marmion Crescent area on Tuesday, where heroin and cocaine were recovered.

A four-figure sum of cash was also discovered.

Two men, aged 54 and 58, are expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

Sergeant Steven Brown said: “This is a significant recovery which highlights our ongoing commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious and Organised Crime Strategy.

“We will continue to disrupt those responsible for the supply of illegal substances and remove drugs from our communities.

“We rely on information from the public and would encourage anyone with concerns about drug activity in their area to contact Police Scotland on 101 or make a call anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
