Two men charged after cocaine worth £579,000 recovered during police raids

Two men have been charged after cocaine worth £579,000 was recovered during raids in Glasgow.

Officers executed drug search warrants at properties in Garry Street in Mount Florida and Grovepark Gardens in Cowcaddens on Friday.

A quantity of cocaine was recovered, and two men, aged 19 and 25, were arrested and charged in connection.

They are due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective sergeant John Rhoddan said: “This recovery highlights our commitment to tackling dangerous and illegal drugs in our local communities. 

“Drugs cause misery in our communities, and we are determined to protect the public by preventing their distribution. 

“Information from the public is vital in helping target those involved in the supply of drugs. Anyone with concerns about drugs in their area is encouraged to contact police on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
