Two men have been jailed in connection with an assault in Uddingston that caused a ‘danger to life’ of another man.
Dylan Black, 29, was sentenced to six years and Ian Donnelly, 27, was sentenced to five years and eight months in connection with the assault at the High Court in Glasgow on Friday, February 23.
The assault on Main Street in Uddingston left a 44-year-old man with serious head injuries, permanent disfigurement and caused a danger to life.
The assault occurred at around 2pm on Thursday, March 3, 2022, and the man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital to be treated.
Detective Chief Inspector Susie Cairns said: “This was a targeted attack and I hope the conviction brings some closure for the victim.
“Black and Donnelly carried out a deliberate and brutal attack and they will now face the consequences of their actions that day.
“This kind of violence has no place in our communities and I hope this outcome sends a clear message to those involved in serious crime that we are committed to seeking out those responsible and bringing them to justice.”
