Two people have been rescued after their sailing boat ran aground off the coast of Scotland.
HM Coastguard was called after the 31ft vessel got into difficulty in south of Loch Ryan around 1.45pm on Monday.
The Stranraer Lifeboat team was sent to the location and found the vessel “hard aground” with two people on board.
The pair were brought back to the shore and left in the care of Stranraer coastguard before being taken back to the boat around 6.30pm in order to re-float it.
The boat was then towed into Stranraer Marina with Stranraer Lifeboat standing down around 9pm.
A spokesperson for HM Coastguard said: “At around 1.45pm on July 1, HM Coastguard was asked to assist a yacht with two people on board which was aground at Loch Ryan.
“The Stranraer, Ballantrae and Portpatrick Coastguard Rescue Teams were sent as well as the Stranraer RNLI lifeboat.
“The two people were brought safely to shore by the lifeboat. When the tide re-floated the vessel, the two were taken back on board and the vessel was towed in and safely berthed.”
