Two men are to appear in court after a 17-year-old was assaulted at Irvine Beach.
Police confirmed two men, both aged 18, were arrested and charged in connection with the assault at Irvine Beach Park around 5.45pm on Saturday.
The pair are expected to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court on Monday.
Sergeant Will Thomson, from the Irvine Locality Policing Team, said: “Thankfully, there were no serious injuries, and two men were arrested following swift action by our officers patrolling nearby at the time.
“As our beach park in Irvine develops over the coming months, we will continue to deploy proactive patrols to target any antisocial behaviour and to stop the small number of people intent on causing misery to those who want to enjoy the area.”
