A crash involving two vehicles has closed the A75 in both directions in Dumfries and Galloway.

Police said the major road near the bypass at Annan has been fully closed after a crash involving two vehicles around 1.50pm on Thursday.

Emergency services are said to be in attendance with drivers urged to avoid the area.

A Police Scotland statement read: “The A75 is closed in both directions at Annan bypass due to a two-vehicle collision.

“The road will remain closed whilst emergency services are in attendance.

“Please avoid the area and follow diversions.”

Traffic Scotland added: “The A75 at Annan is currently closed in both directions, due to a road traffic collision.

“Road users are advised to use an alternative route and allow extra time for their journey.”
