Motorists are being warned to be vigilant after two vehicles were stolen while defrosting in Bearsden.
At around 7.20am on Tuesday, a Honda HRV was stolen from Montrose Drive, while on Thursday, an Audi Q5 vehicle was stolen from Ravelston Road around 7.30am.
The vehicles were taken after the owners left them unattended with the engine running while defrosting the windscreens and windows.
Investigations are under way to trace both the vehicles.
Police inspector Alan Ferris said: “With temperatures low, I would urge motorists not to leave their vehicles unattended. A thief only takes a few seconds to enter your vehicle and make off.
“You should consider covering your windscreens at night using a manual scraper or de-icing product.
“Officers have been patrolling early morning in the area and have noticed several vehicles left to defrost with engines running and the keys in the ignition.
“This crime is entirely preventable and can be eliminated by simply not leaving your vehicle unattended whilst defrosting.
“Please help us keep your car and property safe.
“I would appeal to anyone with any information to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting 0507 of November 28, 2023.”
