The Tesco Superstore in Uddingston has been evacuated after a fire broke out at a nearby car garage on Monday.
Customers have been asked to leave the premises on Bothwell Road while emergency services tackle the flames ripping through the neighbouring building.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) said it was called to a “well-developed” fire in the area just after 6pm.
Footage on social media showed large plumes of smoke billowing from the building.
Six appliances, along with one high-reach vehicle, are in attendance
No casualties were reported.
One eyewitness told STV News that they could hear “loud bangs” and “windows smashing” as the blaze burst through the roof.
They said: “It was just smoking when I arrived, came out of Tesco to flames. All Tesco has been evacuated. Roads are closed, and five fire engines are there.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Emergency services are in attendance following a fire at a premises on Bothwell Road, Uddingston.
“Bothwell Road is closed in both directions at Main Street, Douglas Gardens and Old Glasgow Road. Local diversions are in place.
“Members of the public are asked to avoid the area at this time.”
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service has been contacted for comment.
