Unconscious man rescued from Loch Lomond after falling and hitting rock

A man has been rescued from Loch Lomond after striking a rock and losing consciousness.

Loch Lomond Rescue Boat was called to the water near Cashel campsite to reports of a man who had fallen on the shoreline and was unconscious.

Volunteers reached the scene to assess the man, who was found to have struck a rock, and administered him pain relief for lower back pain.

The man was transferred into the care of ambulance crews Loch Lomond Rescue Boat

The casualty was evacuated from the scene by boat back to Duncan Mills Memorial Slipway, where he was passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service. He was then taken to the hospital.

Loch Lomond Rescue Boat paid tribute to those who assisted at the scene.

A spokesperson said: “Many thanks to the bystanders at the campsite for calling 999, keeping the casualty warm, and remaining with him until help arrived.”
