Police said they are “extremely concerned” about a keen walker who has been missing for four days.
James Clacher disappeared from his home in Bellshill on Monday.
The 53-year-old was last seen in Airdrie at around 4pm that same day.
Police said it is completely out of character for him not to keep in touch with his family and friends.
They have urged anyone in the Lanarkshire and Argyll areas who may have seen him to get in touch.
His Suzuki Swift car has been traced more than 50 miles away at the Loch Long car park in Arrochar in Argyll and police said he may have travelled through the Tyndrum area.
Mr Clacher is described as being 5ft6in tall, of athletic build and bald.
When he was last seen he was believed to be wearing grey cargo style trousers with a black jacket or poncho, a black hat and black trainers
Sergeant Michael McConnell of Coatbridge Police Station said: “James is a keen walker and covers large distances.
“Although his car was found in Arrochar and there is a possible sighting of him in Tyndrum, he could have travelled further afield and we are working with our colleagues in Argyll to carry out enquiries and searches to trace him.
“As time passed we are becoming extremely concerned for his wellbeing and safety. It is completely out of character for him not to keep in touch with his family and friends.
“I would urge anyone in the Lanarkshire and Argyll areas who has seen James since Monday, May 30, or anyone with information on his whereabouts to contact officers through 101 with reference 0985 of May 31.”
