There were celebrations all around at the registry office in Glasgow on Friday as couples tied the knot on the most romantic day of the year.
Among those saying I do on Valentine’s Day were Amanda and James Burn, who became husband and wife after seven years together.
Amanda told STV News: “Well, it’s the most romantic day of the year; we’ve waited seven years, so why not do it on the day of love?
“My sister was the matchmaker and put us together, and then seven years later, we’re finally husband and wife.”

Joining the couples on their big day was Nafisa, the registrar for Glasgow City Council, who goes above and beyond to make sure everything runs smoothly.
She told STV News: “Marriage being such a big event in anyone’s life, it’s such an honour for us to be able to conduct these ceremonies.
“And today, being a day of love, Valentine’s Day, it makes it all the more special. We love to be part of such a joyous occasion and to try and make the ceremony as joyous and enjoyable for the couple as we possibly can.
“From the beginning, right to the end of the ceremony, we talk to the couples, what they’re looking for and enhancements and what they’re looking for during the ceremony.

“We try to make it as intimate and just try to give them exactly what they’re looking for on their very special day.
“We try our utmost to make it as enjoyable experience as we possibly can.”
