A woman has been arrested in connection with the death of grandmother in South Lanarkshire just days before Christmas.
Ann Coll was found with serious injuries at a property on Newfield Place, Rutherglen, at around 12.45am on Friday December 22.
The 61-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detectives confirmed they were treating the death of the “loving mother and grandmother” as suspicious following a post mortem on Christmas Eve.
The grandmother–of-eight had spoken to one of her three grown-up children on the morning of the attack, which police described as “violent”.
On Friday, officers confirmed that a 37-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with the death.
Enquiries remain ongoing at this time.
