Woman charged in connection with guns and drugs haul

Guns, ammunition and drugs with an estimated street value of £50,000 have been recovered from an address in Glasgow.

The items were discovered after police executed three search warrants at addresses on Tallant Road, Drumchapel on Friday.

Two guns were found and the main quantity of drugs is believed to be heroin.

A 44-year-old woman was arrested and charged. She is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

Detective Inspector Jim Bradley, based at Baird Street Police Station, said: “We will always proactively target people who are believed to be involved in criminal activity and our enquiries remain ongoing.

“I would encourage people with any information about drug crime or suspicious behaviour in their area that is potentially linked to criminality to contact us on 101.

“Information from the public is important and helps us do our job to protect people and our communities.”
