A woman whose father was stabbed to death has been excused from attending her own court hearing.

Shannon Greenhorn, 29, was to appear for her deferred sentencing on Wednesday at Glasgow Sheriff Court.

Her father James Greenhorn, 61, was ambushed by two topless men near his home in Glasgow’s Tollcross on Monday.

The dad-of-two was walking to the local shop when he was attacked by his killers.

CCTV showed Mr Greenhorn with his hands in his pockets and his hood up before he was approached from behind by a man.

One man then assaulted Mr Greenhorn before a second man kicked the grandfather as he tried to defend himself.

Mr Greenhorn can be heard shouting, “What have I done?” as one of the men appeared to stab him while the other kicked him on the ground.

His daughter Shannon had previously pled guilty to four different charge sheets, which spanned from April 2024 to March 2025.

She admitted a string of offences, which include assaulting police officers and resisting arrest.

Greenhorn had also pled guilty to behaving in a threatening or abusive manner.

Sheriff Joanna McDonald ordered her to be of good behaviour and a review of the order was to take place.

Ian McClelland, defending, told the court: “She has been in my office on a number of occasions since Monday.

“A sad episode happened to her father where her father was murdered.

“The position is for her matters is that she attended my office yesterday and was advised she was not required to attend today which I am sure you will have no difficulty with.

“She is in a very fragile state and I ask that you continue matters.

“If she continues to be unwell and unable to attend I can advise about that.”

The lawyer also advised the court that his client had been of good behaviour.

Sheriff McDonald fixed a new deferred sentence hearing for March.
