A woman has appeared in court after a “chemical incident” at a property in Glasgow saw the evacuation of a block of flats.

Connie Stevenson, 26, of Glasgow, was charged with culpable and reckless and conduct, and threatening or abusive behaviour at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

She made no plea and was remanded in custody. Her next court appearance will be within eight days.

On Sunday, emergency services were called to Lenzie Terrace in Springburn at around 3.30pm after the chemical incident.

Neighbours were evacuated from their homes as a precaution while police ensured the area was safe.

Officers said no one was hurt and there was no wider risk to the public.

Stevenson was assessed at hospital before being arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
