iStockA woman is in a critical condition after she was knocked down by a car in Ayrshire on Saturday.
Emergency services were call to the A713 between Hollybush and Polnessan, around 4.45pm after reports of a crash involving a black Vauxhall Mokka and a female pedestrian.
The female pedestrian was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where her condition is described as critical.
Sergeant Gordon Stewart said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and haven’t already spoken to police to get in touch.
“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam or private CCTV which could assist to contact us.”
