A woman has been left injured after being struck by a car near Stranraer.
The pedestrian was taken to hospital after the incident that took place on the A77 early on Boxing Day morning.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 6.10am on Thursday.
The A77 is closed at Lochans following the collision and police look to establish the full circumstances.
A local diversion is in place and road users are advised to avoid the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A77 is closed at Lochans following a crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian that happened around 6.10am on Thursday, 26 December.
“Emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a woman, was taken to hospital.”
