A woman has been injured after she was attacked by a dog in Cumbernauld during the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to Burns Road in the Kildrum area at around 6.25am.
Nearby residents were told to stay indoors as a precaution.
The woman received treatment to her injuries at the scene. Police contained the dog, which has been left in the care of its owner.
An investigation to establish the full circumstances around the attack is ongoing, Police Scotland said.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 6.25am on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, we received a report of a person having been attacked by a dog on Burns Road, Kildrum, Cumbernauld.
“Emergency services attended and the woman was treated at the scene.
“The dog was contained and left in the care of its owner. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
