A woman was sexually assaulted on a train by another passenger while travelling from Inverness to Glasgow.
The incident occurred just after 5.30pm on Saturday, May 14, between Stirling and Inverness.
A man approached and sat next to the victim and started offering her alcohol. He then touched her inappropriately, ignoring her when she refused his advances.
He remained in the seat and continued to try to speak with the victim, eventually kissing her on the cheek against her will.
He then said, “I love you” before moving to another carriage.
British Transport Police are appealing for witnesses who may have been on the train between Inverness and Stirling, and could assist their enquiries.
A spokesperson for the force said: “If you witnessed this incident, or have any information, please contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference 639 of May 17, 2022.
