Police ScotlandA man has been charged after a woman died following a disturbance at a house in Glasgow
Emergency services were called to the house on Newfield Square in Nitshill at around 9.45pm on Saturday.
Margaret McGowan, 71, woman was found seriously injured and pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers confirmed a 78-year-old man has been charged in connection with her death.
A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Police said the incident is being treated as contained, and an investigation is ongoing.
Detective inspector Jason Nicol said: “This is being treated as a contained incident and there is no wider risk to the public.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and a police presence may remain in the area as this work continues.”
