XSite Braehead has announced plans to open the world’s longest indoor e-karting track and an e-sports centre as part of a £12.6m upgrade.
The attractions are part of a multi-million pound redevelopment scheduled for the Renfrewshire entertainment complex later this year.
Paradise Island Golf is also undertaking a significant overhaul, including the addition of a high ropes course.
It comes after a number of of refurbishments at XSite, with bowling alley TENPIN adding four new bowling lanes, two private karaoke rooms, and a makeover of the bar.
Chiefs say it comes off the back of a “very successful” 2024 which saw the complex welcome over 2.1 million people throughout the year.
Q4 saw November footfall up by 10.4% versus 2023 and December footfall up by 14.5% versus the previous month.
The money has been drawn from a partnership of tenant and owner contributions.
Further investment includes a significant marketing campaign and the centre is also working to finalise other leasing deals.
Kitty Vaughan, Head of UK Leisure and F&B at Pradera Lateral, XSite’s Asset Management team said: “2025 is a landmark year for XSite Braehead with the introduction of new tenants, and significant enhancements to the already popular existing attractions.
“This large scale, unprecedented investment highlights XSite Braehead’s ongoing commitment to evolving and enhancing the visitor experience and with this we are setting the centre up for an extended period of exceptional growth.”
