Airport officials say all 80 people on board the Delta Airlines flight from the US have been safely evacuated, as ITV News US Correspondent Dan Rivers reports
At least 15 people, including one child, were injured when a plane crash-landed and flipped over at Toronto Pearson International Airport on Monday.
Delta Airlines flight 4819 crash-landed around 2.45pm local time (7.45pm GMT), leaving one passenger critically injured, according to local reports.
Photos on social media show the Mitsubishi CRJ-900LR overturned on a snowy tarmac.
All 80 passengers were safely evacuated.
The leader of Ontario province, Doug Ford, said on social media that there were “no casualties” in the crash landing.
It’s too early to say what caused the plane to flip but weather may have played a factor.
According to the Meteorological Service of Canada, the airport was experiencing snow and winds up to 40mph, with temperatures around -8.6 Celsius.
In a statement on Monday night, airport authorities said: “Toronto Pearson is aware of an incident upon landing involving a Delta Airlines plane arriving from Minneapolis.
“Emergency teams are responding.
“All passengers and crew are accounted for.”
All runways have been closed at Toronto Pearson Airport.
Delta Airlines issued a statement on its website, stating that it is working to confirm details regarding the incident.

“Delta is aware of reports of Endeavor Flight 4819 operating from Minneapolis/St. Paul to Toronto-Pearson International Airport as involved in an incident,” the statement read.
“We are working to confirm any details and will share the most current information on news.delta.com as soon as it becomes available.”
The Federal Aviation Administration said in a statement that the Transportation Safety Board of Canada will head up the investigation and provide any updates.
The incident comes less than three weeks after an American Airlines plane collided midair with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter in Washington DC, killing 67 people.
