British wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known as Pac, dies aged 40

British wrestler Benjamin Satterley, known to fans by his ring name, Pac, has died aged 40.

Satterley’s death was confirmed by All Elite Wrestling on social media in the early hours of Monday morning.

The 40-year-old, who previously wrestled for WWE after making his name in UK independent promotions, is from Newcastle.

His death was confirmed just a day after he participated in AEW’s “All Out” event in Chicago on Saturday evening.

AEW said in a statement: “A native of Newcastle upon Tyne, England, Satterley began his wrestling career in 2004 and went on to perform for wrestling organisations all over the world, captivating fans with innovative high-flying moves and incredible in-ring ability.

“Pac signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2019 and held multiple AEW Championships and competed in some of the most memorable matches in AEW history. Our condolences go out to Satterley’s family, friends and fans.”

AEW’s World Champion Will Ospreay, also from England, said on X: “The greatest export from our country. Also the greatest human being.

“Honoured to have shared the ring with you so many times. You truly are such a hero to myself and many others.”

The company’s president, Tony Khan, who also owns Fulham FC, said: “Benjamin Satterley defined excellence, as a beloved husband and friend to his many loved ones, and in his wrestling knowledge, skill, unprecedented athleticism, professionalism, consistency, and dedication to the sport that he loved and traveled the world to pursue. May Ben rest in peace.”
