A couple believed to be from Scotland have been found dead at their home in south-western France.
Local media reports that a neighbour discovered the bodies of a man and woman in their 60s at their home in Les Pesquiés, south of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, around 12.35pm on Thursday.
The mayor of Villefranche-de-Rouergue, Jean-Sébastien Orcibal, told French television that the deaths were “clearly a homicide”.
The couple are believed to have lived in the hamlet, which has around 100 residents, for around ten years after retiring.

Locals said the couple had integrated into the village and knew a lot of people.
Mr Orcibal said that the deaths were “not a burglary gone wrong” and that no weapon had been found.
A helicopter, drone, criminal investigation technicians and a forensic doctor have been seen at the property.
